Utah Jazz Owner Dead at 64
In Utah, the only sport is basketball, and the only team the state loves is the Utah Jazz. That’s why everybody feels a little empty today when Utah Jazz owner Larry H. Miller passes away due to complications to diabetes 2.
Larry Miller bought 50% of the team in 1985, a year when the Jazz may have moved to Miami. He bought the rest of the team a year later and kept the spirit alive in Salt Lake City. This is a man who stuck with Jerry Sloan through those painful post Malone-Stockton years, and was rewarded for being loyal to a great coach, and a good friend. One of the great NBA owners, and his presence will be sorely missed in Salt Lake City.
