Alonzo Mourning Retires
After 15 years, 7 All-Star appearances, 2 defensive player of the years, and 1 NBA championship, Alonzo Mourning calls it quits and says he’s done all he can do physically for the NBA. This man was a class act, the face of the Miami Heat franchise, and even had a brief run with his very own cereal: Zo’s O’s. He made an unlikely comeback after minimally productive time with New Jersey, and made an appearance in the Heat locker room last week against Boston to let former teammates Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem know that he planned to retire.
