Marc Gasol Making Case For Rookie Of The Year Considerations

Published by basketballpeon at 11:54 am under Uncategorized Edit This

When talking about the rookie of the year during the offseason, we heard three names: Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose, and Greg Oden.  We also heard some whispers about Kevin Love, Danilo Gallinari and so on, but Nobody talked about Marc Gasol.  Sure, its still early, but he has shown some signs of dominance.  He is averaging 11 points and 9 and a half boards, and had a great game with 27 points, 16 boards, and 3 blocks.  Sure it was Goldenstate, and sure they were concentrating on Ruday Gay and O.J. Mayo, but this kid has shown that he has got some good stuff.  It is unlikely that he will be the Rookie of the Year, but he might be a dark horse candidate.  You never know with Memphis’ roster, he may get some minutes and may continue to sneak up on teams.
