It’s official, the basketball gods hate Portland.  Bill Walton (1st overall pick), Sam Bowie (2nd overall pick, famously drafted before Michael Jordan), and Greg Oden (1st overall pick).  Now we have to sit here and listen to ESPN talk about a curse, and how Oden is injury prone, fragile, and so on and so forth for the next couple of weeks.  I don’t know if any of you listen to Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio, but he predicted just this thing happening (amazingly).  He basically said that the city of Portland, god bless their hearts, are setting themselves up for failure with high expectations and believing that Greg Oden will be around the whole season.  Now, I agreed that at some point he would get injured during the season, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to happen the first game of the season.
